FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
This Saturday March 27th starting at 9:00am the Motor City Blight Busters will
be hosting the 5th annual “Detroit Project”. This event brings together
2000 volunteers from the University of Michigan, Wayne State, and a number of
Detroit suburbs. These volunteers will be working on 80 sites simultaneously

Activities include: Crack house demolitions that will make way for new construction,
boarding up dangerous vacant buildings, neighborhood cleanups, Park beautification
projects, Public mural art projects, and cleaning up illegal dump sites.
Come watch Blight Busters put a new tool in its blight removal arsenal to work for the first time. Thanks to the Sweepster Corporation, Blight Busters has acquired a new “John Deere” skid loader that will be used to assist in the demolition clean up projects. Other sponsors for this event include: Ralph Roberts Real Estate (Home of the NAIL), MASCO Corporation, Ford Motor Company, State Farm Insurance, Comerica, The Hand in Hand Foundation, Public Art Works and Complete Compliance. The event kicks off at the Clarita Playfield on Lahser Rd. in northwest Detroit. For more information call John George @ (313) 255-4355
