Who
Is Involved?
Motor City Blight Busters and its coalition of partners, including
Northwest Detroit Neighborhood Development, Northwest Detroit
Non-Profit Housing, Habitat for Humanity, Redford Gardens Community
Association, Charity Motors, The Guardian Angels and an army of
volunteers and concerned neighbors, i.e. Angels.
How
Is It Celebrated?
By taking to the streets to patrol and protect our neighborhoods
from arson, property destruction and other "devilish"
acts on the evenings before Halloween. Volunteers wear white ribbons
as an identification and unification symbol.
Why
Do It?
Because it's the right thing to do!
And you believe it is possible to turn a negative situation into
a positive celebration. Blight Busters is committed to officially
changing the name of October 30th to "Angel's Night",
because we believe the focus should always be on the positive.
Join
Us
We'll meet at the Motor City Resource Center located at 17405
Lahser Rd - one block North of Grand River between 6 and 7 Mile
on the West side of the street. Parking is available behind the
building.
Refreshments
and merriment begin at 5:00 PM. Then the angel patrols take to
the streets for a dusk to dawn celebration of positive energy
as we watch over our city. The local volunteer army will be joined
by members of the Guardian Angels from the New York and Chicago
chapters. Everyone is welcome! Bring along a flashlight, flasher,
CB or mobile phone if you have one.
