"ONCE UPON A CRACK HOUSE"
-
A TRUE STORY-
John J. George, a native northwest Detroiter, was fed up with drug
dealers in his neighborhood. After years of pleading with the city
to shut down a drug house
around the corner from his home, George took matters into his own
hands.
After purchasing some plywood and paint, George went to the crack
house and
proceeded to board it up. He cut the grass surrounding the house.
Some neighbors came out of their houses to help.
In a matter of hours the house was boarded and painted, the lot was
cleared and the
structure was secured. When the drug dealers who had been inhabiting
the house
arrived that evening they were locked out - and they went away and
did not return!
